The press recently posted topless pictures of Kate Middleton. Do you agree that they should have been published or did the press cross the line? Write your opinion in a comment below...

The difficulty with this is that on one hand, someone in her position should know that it is virtually impossible to do what she did without there being someone with a long lens ready to take a picture. In the internet age, where newspapers are literally dying, there is pressure on newspaper editors to deliver. Of course it is an invasion of privacy, but I can to some degree understand why they would be printed. Are they in the 'public interest' - well they must be since so many people would have clambered to view them. The decision to publish them here in Ireland was a mistake though and it achieved virtually nothing since they were worldwide at that stage.

Thanks for your contribution Paddy ;-) Personally, I think she should have had more cop on but I was very disappointed to learn that they were published in Ireland.

In my opinion I believe the press did not cross the line. I believe they did a great job in getting such a good picture so she shouldn't have got half naked if she didn't want to be seen.

well they obviously wanted people to see them, but thats the wrong thing about all this. you need to realise she has feelings to. you wouldnt like if i posted naked pictures of you.

i think that the press crossed the line. Kate should be left alone and be let do what she wanted. Just because she's married to the Prince doesn't mean that the press have the right to invade her privacy.

In my opinion, i think the press have crossed the line. They have invaded her privacy and left her very upset over this. I think her and her husband Prince William should have felt they were in privacy in their villa in France. Kate is a young woman, and should be allowed to wonder free without having to worry about who is going to be taking pictures of her. The paparazzi have went all out this time and there should definitely be a stop to all this. They have no respect for other people as long as there getting money out of it.

I think she should have been able to go topless in the private villa that they rented, without been photographed. The press crossed the line big time.

No i totally disagree.I think the press defiantly crossed the line and posted her pictures to the world as she is a young woman. She also was using a private villa which the paparazzi should left her alone!

I think that the press did cross the line.It was none of their business what Kate was doing in her private property. The paparazzi just wanted money.

They didn't cross the line as that's their job and that's what they have to do . It's her own fault :)

Kate has the right to do whatever she wants with the fact that she part of the royal family. Privacy is what she payed for and what she didn't get. So evaluating this situation there is a fair amount of faults from Kate and the press.

but eventually she will become the queen. not all people want her to be remebered as the topless queen. and just because guys finally got to see her topless they wouldn't care for privacy in any case.

i think that that Kate Middleton obviously shouldn't have been naked on the balcony in the first place? she should have more respect for herself because she's going to be the future queen.

In my opinion Kate Middleton is overreacting.
She is making a big deal out of it and shouldn't draw attention to herself
by suing them.
if she went topless more often it wouldn't be such a big deal.
The only reason people are getting their knickers in a twist is because she's the future queen, if she wasn't she would be another page three model

in my opinion both kate and the paparazzi where at fault. kate should not have been topless as she is the next queen of england and the paparazzi should really give her a little more privacy.

The paparazzi are everywhere obviously she should not have went topless because the week before harry was caught naked in Vegas she should have a bit of cop on by now.

Of the dutchess os ambridge Kate Midlleton.
They invaded her privacy which they should not have done , even though she is a princess she is a human just like everyone else.

I think it wasn't right how the press intruded Kate's privicy. If Kate and Will paid for a private villa , they should of got privicy. All young women go around topless , so I don't see why its such a big deal that Kate did it.I think the person who took the picture was a pervert, like who hides in the bushes and wait to take a picture like that?

In my opinion Kate's privacy invasion is over the top. She's a young woman and completely entitled of her privacy regarding her title. If she wants to sunbathe topless her privacy should be respected. Even though she is the Duchess she is suffering from the embarrassment.

Honestly the media needed a a story ...just look at prince harry his pictures were put up in the sun. People need to see the people they look towards a Royal Family.

I think that Kate had the right to do whatever she wanted. People do this everyday but no one ever pays attention so why make a big deal out of it just because shes part of the royal family? Shes a normal person.

In my opinion privacy is privacy ...no one should violate that, Especially the media. i think its very demeaning what they did to her but yet again, she knows that she is now a princess she needs to be wary of what she does! but people can not look at her in the wrong, because she was in her own villa.
