The teacher, Mr. Keating, in 'Dead Poet's Society' encouraged his students to "sieze the day".

To me the "seize the day" saying, that Mr.Keeting encouraged his students to do is something that should be everybody's input and should do.

In my opinion 'sieze the day' is a saying that people use but never accomplish, like people will say 'sieze the day' but will not follow it through they just use it as a saying to get through their life, its just like 'Yolo'. I believe that if you're going to say sieze the day at least mean what you say and live life to its full potential. I do not think it is advice you would give to a teenager because most teenagers my age take 'Yolo' or 'seize the day' as and excuse to do bad things like drinking or bullying and then will use that not to care about it. I do agree with the philosophy because life is what you make it but i believe if you do good deeds and accomplish things you want to then that would be your own meaning of 'sieze the day'.

Carpe Diem means to me that you have to make the best of your day and not give much thought about the future plans.

My understanding of this saying is that you should not take any minute of your day for granted. You never know what could happen to anyone or your yourself. I do agree with this philosophy because plenty of people take life for granted as they throw good opportunities out the window and never take these chances as they should. It would be a positive way to live knowing your doing something good for a change. In my opinion i don't think it has affected my opinion in life because I always have in mind that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. This is a very good thing to be saying to teenagers influencing them in the right path.

In my opinion, I myself think that this saying ' sieze the day ' is true as it mean live everyday like its your last really. I really like and agree with this saying as it is true, as you never do know how long you have left, or whats right around the corner. Yes, it has effected my decisions in life, as ive gone and did things which people told me not to do, but it worked out good in the long run or in the end. Its all about having fun but also being responsible at the same time. You have to be careful in life in what you do. I also do think that it is appropriate for a teacher to advise their students in this way, as i believe it is a good way to look at life and good advise.

'seize of the day' means to live your life to the full and do want you want to do and not listen to what others have to say. Also, to use an opportunity to do something that you want and not to worry about the future. If you have a positive look towards life you will be happier and have more confidence in yourself.

I think sieze the day means live your life to the fullest. To take all opportunities that comes in your way. To work to your ability. I do agree with the philosophy. I think everybody should live their lives to the fullest in the way they want to live it in. Even if somebody is against what you want to achieve in life you should still go along with it because it is your life and not theirs. In life you have to think of what the future will bring. You always have to have that somewhere in your mind. I don’t always want to think about my future although it is a thing I will always have to think about. I think that Mr. Keating wasn’t giving any teenager bad advice. In my opinion he was actually helping everybody rather than leading them in the wrong direction. Sure he had a different way of teaching but it was turning out that the students were learning after all. I don’t think he was giving the students any inappropriate advice.

My understanding of Carpe Diem is as it says seize the day. Today could be the day could you die, get married or divorced, win an important match or lose it, either way seize the day make the most of the opportunities of life you've been given. Embrace the countless amount choices you can decide today, because no one can tell you what you want to do.

From my understanding, seize the day means to live life to the full and to set aside all possible differences, all fears, all worries and just go for it. I agree with the philosophy of seize the day I believe that you should live life to its full potential and "Suck all the marrow out of life". I personally think it is appropriate advice to give to teenagers because they should be encouraged to live life to its potential. Most teenagers are mature enough to understand this saying, so I think teenagers should be encouraged to seize the day.

I think that carpe diem means that people should live their lives to the fullest because you never know what could happen to you. I think everyone should follow their dreams and not let anyone bring them down.I believe everyone should speak up for themselves because everyone is different and have different opinions.
