Teaching and Learning in the eSchool

Together with our teacher, Ms. Cullen, five of us are travelling to the 'Teaching and Learning in the eSchool' conference in the Slieve Russell Hotel on September 11th. We are very excited!

We will be representing our class and our school at this conference. There will be presentations and talks on ICT in education but the best part of the day will be .... US!   :)

That's right - we get to talk to everybody there about our class blog and our use of Class Dojo in the classroom. We will explain how we have used these tools to become more involved with our own learning in the classroom.

Keep an eye out for us and ask us as many questions as you want!

In July we were asked to write a guest blog post for Class Dojo, an excellent classroom management tool. We use it every day in the classroom and we ❤ it! This is the link to the article - http://blog.classdojo.com/index.php/guest-post/

Congratulations to 19p who received 89% in their Class Dojo report this term. The students have been excelling at their English classwork and homework. We have been doing a lot of group work together and 19p have proved they are well able for it!

The girls have rocked in the last couple of months! Student of the Month for February goes to Karolina and Student of the Month for March goes to Buky. I would also like to give a special mention to Lija, who has worked very hard this term. Joseph and Dylan B have done a great job of holding it all together for the boys this term. Well done lads.

Behaviour Report 19e - Term 4

Unfortunately we did not meet our target of 72% for our special treat at the end of this term. The main culprit has been a failure to complete the homework. This is very disappointing, as 19e demonstrated earlier in this term that they are able to do their homework to a very high standard.

If any of you think that you have any suggestions or ideas that could improve the level of homework, please leave a comment.

19e are a class of many talents. Some students excel at reading while others are a whizz on the computer. Our classmate, Dylan, moved to another class this term and we miss him a lot. He always brought up our class points! Several students stood out this term: Emma and Jordan always keep us on our toes with their excellent and insightful questions; Nathan and Sandra displayed their great reading ability; Katy's enthusiasm and sunny demeanor have been positively infectious!

However two students stood out more than others: Congratulations to Jack, who receives the Student of the Month award for February. Student of the Month for March goes to Molly.Excellent work guys.

Well done 19e! There has been a huge improvement in classroom behaviour.  Even though we didn't reach our 80% target, we still enjoyed a movie in school because let's face - nobody's perfect and we all deserve a break ;-)

There will be a similar treat at the end of term three if we match or beat 72%. (This time I'll hold firm - no target, no reward)

Student of the month for January goes to Dylan S
. Congratulations Dylan. Your hard work and excellent homework haven't gone unnoticed. Keep it up!

Congratulations to 19p!! 93% - what a result! Well done everyone. As a reward, the students (and myself!) enjoyed a movie on our last day before mid-term break. We also made complete pigs of ourselves thanks to copious amounts of chocolate ;-)

Student of the month for January goes to Emma for her imaginative and creative work in her homework and classwork copies
. Emma always makes great contributions to class. Congratulations Emma!

Behaviour Report Term 2 - Class 19e

This is the behaviour report for 19e for the past month, according to Class Dojo. "Shouting in class" is the main reason for the negative marks. This is a simple thing that can be sorted by students putting up their hands. "Hard work" and "helping others" have played a big part in our positive marks. 19e are a class that love to help each other.

Rewards will be given out only when we have an 80% positive report. Please remind me to turn Class Dojo on for every class!

This is the behaviour report from Class Dojo for the last month. As you can see, it is pretty dismal. "Swinging in chair" has been a regular offense and this is ruining the chances of any rewards. Fortunately "hard work" has been noted quite a lot.

Sometimes, we have forgotten to do Class Dojo during class, which means there have been good behaviour which we are missing.

Please keep reminding me to turn it on at the start of class! For next month, a minimum of 80% positive will be required for rewards.
