This week is Anti-bullying week in St. Oliver's Community College. We have been reading and watching 'To This Day' by Shane Koyczan. It is a very powerful poem based on true stories. You can watch the shortened, YouTube animated version below or click here.

This week is Anti-bullying week in St. Oliver's Community College. Each class is incorporating the theme of friendship and togetherness into their class. In English, we decided to write anti-bullying raps!!
In the comments section, you can add your rap We are entering the short story competition 'What would Ross do?'. It's in memory of a really cool guy who died of cancer in 2010. You can learn more about Ross by visiting his foundation's website here. We had a very productive Open Night last night! Thank you so much to Bláthín, Sarah, Igor and Andrew who demonstrated how to use our blog and our Samsung tablets. A lot of effort went into preparing for last night but it was well worth it. We talked the ears off anyone who would listen to us! This competition is open to all students. Your story might be picked and appear in a book of stories along with many celebrities. The competition is raising money for the Ross Nugent Foundation. Ross lost his fight with cancer in May 2010 but his family are keeping his spirit alive through their fundraising and interactions with young people.
