Last week, we read Mid-term Break by Heeney. For homework, we had to compare our recent break to that of the boy in the poem. Here is what Mollie said:
My midterm wasn’t so different to the boy in the poem. My Nana died as she had a blood clot in her head. No one was expecting her to die. It just happened. It was a big shock. It wasn’t too bad because they both went in peace R.I.P
Here is Mollie's contribution to the description of a setting:
Sophie and Justin took one step into the forest and they knew their lives were forever changed. The forest was gorgeous. It had nice, big, green trees. Leaves were falling off the trees. It was beautiful. The air smelled like grapes. There were branches on the ground and leaves mixed in. It was lovely. When they were walking, all they could hear was the branches crunching and the crispy leaves. The sound of an owl and the sound of the wind were rushing through the forest. The sound of birds and eagles was just beautiful.
In this post, we are describing characters from stories using our imaginations. Please post ONE line or description in the comments for this post.
We are describing 'A crazy man'
The 100 word challenge is a great way for students all over the world to communicate with each other and share their writing skills. Every week, a prompt is posted to the 100 word challenge website - http://100wc.net/ - then each student writes exactly 100 words on the topic. We will post the written piece to this blog and link it to the 100wc website, along with thousands of other students all over the world. As the challenge has not yet started, we have been practicing in class. We loved Taidgh's piece of creative writing and wanted to share it with you:
Friendship can mean a lot of things. Some people can ruin a friendship by saying things behind their friend’s back. I think 100% of people in the world can hurt others though friendship.
If you say something about someone behind their back just make sure you tell them without hurting them. That way, friendship can stay strong.
Friendship isn’t only hanging with mates. Friendship is as strong as a heart. If you are kind you will have a very strong friendship with others around you. Some people have no friends. Make friends with them and they will have more then.
